For Sale: Visibly stunning and working 1967 R.A. Moog Modular III-P in original portable hardwood plywood cabinets, formerly owned by The Monkees, power module 910 serial 1019. 31 Modules. 10 Oscillators. 901-C! Prototype keyboard? Giant toggle switches! The only wood III-P ever producedSerials start at 1002 and are dated Sept 15 1967. Paul Beaver’s sticker appears on a 911A (Serial 1009) dated Nov 20 1967. A 901A (Serial 1009) is stamped Sept 21 1967.

Rumored to have been played by John Lennon “for hours to make flying saucer sounds”. Also owned by Bobby Sherman. Appears to be all original, including keyboard, which also works. Includes original patch cables with five out of six wood covers. We will have the sixth cover made to protect it. Includes the rare 901-C Output Stage Module, serial 1006. I'm told there were only 15 901-C's made. The first of a handful of "Famous Shipments"according to Moog Archives' website. This is an original, historical and very collectible piece of electronic musical history.

Powers up and plays. Oscillators output sound. There are some issues with some modules including scratchy pots and or intermittent audio. To the best of our knowledge it's lived in sunny and most importantly- dry California all of it's 47 years. No mold, no mildew, no visible issues less some oxidization on two hexnuts, a small, minor rub on the 904-B. There's a strange marking in the corner on a few modules, sort of a sine wave with a slash through it. Cigarette burn on top right corner of the wood keyboard case. Very early mixer(s) & possible prototype I/O module(s) and keyboard interface, all at the bottom of each case with no serials or model numbers. Notice "Envelope Voltages To Amplifiers" toggle switches module / panel (with no serial) and classic DYMO black & white labeling.
